Shalom Foundation and Center of Yiddish Culture invite you to a three-week meeting with the Yiddish language and Jewish history, literature, culture, and art.
In June, for the 23rd time in the history of the project - we will meet again in Warsaw’s Muranów district to learn Yiddish together. This time, we will focus thematically on the Yiddish press! 📰
With our selected topic, you will explore different aspects of Jewish journalism and editorial offices. We will discuss how this medium catered to people of all backgrounds and political beliefs evolved in the Yiddish world. 📰
The program includes:
• language courses at four levels
• lectures on the Yiddish language and culture
• workshops
• tutorials and other activities
🧜♀️ In Warsaw, surrounded by participants from all over the world and under the supervision of the best specialists, we will once again delve into the extraordinary world of history and traditions related to the language and culture of Ashkenazi Jews.
Two or three-week course - entirely in person
Yiddish classes on 4 levels (including the beginners!)
Workshops, lectures and more, including:
🔴 Bookbinding workshop “Notebook for a Reporter” (all levels)
🔴 Puzzles and riddles from the Yiddish press with Karo Wegner
🔴 „England 1 – 1 Poland” – sports reporting (levels 3 and 4) with Karolina Szymaniak
🔴 Film workshop (levels 2, 3 and 4) with Ethel Niborski

Participants may apply for a scholarship exempting them from paying a part of the seminar tuition. Who can apply? Students, PhD students, individuals working with Jewish organizations and Jewish studies, artists working in the field of Jewish art.

Fundacja Shalom i Centrum Kultury Jidysz zapraszają na trzytygodniowe spotkanie z językiem jidysz oraz z żydowską historią, literaturą, kulturą i sztuką.
🧜♀️ Spotkajmy się znowu na warszawskim Muranowie, by wspólnie uczyć się jidysz. Tematem przewodnim seminarium będzie tym razem prasa żydowska!
Zgodnie wybranym przez nas tematem kursu, będziemy odkrywać różne aspekty dziennikarstwa żydowskiego i zakamarki biur redakcyjnych. Będziemy dyskutować o tym, jak prasa stała się medium ludzi o różnym pochodzeniu i przekonaniach politycznych, jak ewoluowała w świecie jidysz.

* wykłady o języku i kulturze jidysz
* warsztaty
* konwersatoria i inne aktywności
Na miejscu w Warszawie, w otoczeniu uczestniczek i uczestników z całego świata i pod okiem najlepszych specjalistów po raz kolejny zagłębimy się w niezwykły świat historii i tradycji związanych z językiem i kulturą Żydów aszkenazyjskich.

Zajęcia z języka jidysz na 4 poziomach (w tym dla początkujących!)
Warsztaty, wykłady i nie tylko, m.in.:

🔴 „Rebusy i zagadki z prasy jidyszowej” z Karo Wegner
🔴 „Anglia 1 – 1 Polska” – reportaż sportowy (poziomy 3 i 4) z Karoliną Szymaniak
